This extension is designed to provide customers with cashback (in the form of store credit) based on the total amount of their order.

Customers can then use this store credit as a discount on their next purchase.

Why Use the Cashback System?

As you may know, reward points are a popular way to encourage customers to return and shop again. OpenCart even includes this feature by default.

However, reward points aren't equivalent to real money. Many customers find them confusing or not meaningful—especially when they can only be used for certain products.

This is where our extension comes in.

Instead of using points, we reward your customers with actual money in the form of store credit. And we call it... Cashback.

The system works similarly to reward points: when a customer successfully places an order, they receive cashback as store credit. This credit can be automatically used as a discount on their next purchase—and unlike points, it feels real and can be used on all products.

For store owners, this makes life easier. No need to configure point values product by product. This extension calculates cashback based on the total order amount—either as a percentage or a fixed value. It's efficient, flexible, and user-friendly.

Ultimately, we hope this money-based reward system helps make your store even more attractive to your customers.

This version of the cashback system differs from our previous modules: Cashback and Cashback Pro.

The key difference is in how cashback is calculated—those versions calculate it based on individual products, while this version calculates it based on the total order value.

Note: these modules are not compatible to be used at the same time.

Requirements

• For OpenCart 4, VQMOD is required
• Make sure VQMOD version 2.6.7 or newer is installed

Demo – Try Before You Buy

To explore the admin settings, visit the demo panel:

• Username: demo

1. Navigate to: Extensions > Extensions > Modules > Cashback Based
2. As a demo user, you will have read-only access (modifications are disabled)

To see how it works from a customer's perspective:

1. Place a test order (ensure the subtotal is at least $100)
2. Go back to the admin demo panel
3. Open the order details page
4. View the cashback amount
5. Change the order status to 'Complete' or 'Shipped'
6. Refresh the page—your cashback will appear
7. Optionally, manually adjust cashback using the 'Add/Remove Cashback' button
8. Switch to the storefront demo
9. Navigate to: Account > Transaction to verify your new balance
